Research institutions

Lower Saxony can boast a diverse and vibrant research and teaching landscape, with 13 universities and art schools, a further seven higher-education establishments and a number of non-university research institutions. To round off the picture, there are also institutes and other establishments that are jointly funded by the German federal government and the federal state of Lower Saxony.
